| If it
were possible to convert all the energy expended in anxiety and worry into
something productive, our world would be essentially transformed.
But if that sounds like an exaggeration, we might at
least examine the waste caused by our own anxieties and worries. How much
energy have we siphoned out of our own energy reservoirs in order to feed
habits of anxiety and worry?
Perhaps the worst cases of anxiety and worry stem
not so much from concern about ourselves, but rather from concern about those we
love. What a useless expenditure of energy!
We have some control over our own lives, but what
can we change through our worries about others?
If we know how to interpret our life experienced,
they tell us of the uselessness of chronic anxieties and worries.
Our freedom from worry begins when we become
aware of a compassionate God who assures us of His care and love.
Confidence in God enables us to over and trust in
the midst of a life that will always present some amount of danger and risk, a
life that will tempt us to worry. |
