It takes two feet to walk, but
which one, at any given moment, is the more important?
Watch yourself when you walk.
One foot does the work of supporting your weight, while the other hovers
uselessly in the air. Or so it seems. Would it be possible, though,
to get along without that apparently useless foot?
If both feet are equally
supporting you, you can stand but not walk. If both feet are in the air at
the same time, you may be in trouble.
A successful life journey is made
up of activity and restful prayer. In a healthy life, there is time for
prayer, and time for activity. Life could not flow smoothly if one
of these components were missing.
Without prayer, we fall out of
touch with God, as well as with ourselves. Without activity, God cannot
fully express Himself within us. There can be no fruitful activity without
prayer, and no fruitful prayer without some kind of activity.
Does your
life include a balance of both? |
