| It
seems to be a principle of life that God usually comes to us in very ordinary
ways. Dandelions are far more prevalent than roses. Sparrows are more
common than canaries. People with
personality flaws are far more common than those who do not have them ---- if
indeed there is anyone who does not.
God does come and speak to us in the ordinary
everyday persons and events in our lives. If we wait for someone or
something else, then we miss God.
Let us not write off the seemingly ordinary
persons and events of our life for that is all we have, and where else are we to
be found?
When we discover more deeply that God is in
everyone and in everything, the ordinary will cease being simply ordinary.
Then we will see all persons and things for what
they are ----bearers of God's presence. |
