When we grew into adulthood from adolescence, people
saw that we had changed. Our adolescent appearance died, but what was
essential in us continued to live.
When we grow into the next life from this one,
people will see that we have changed. Our earthly appearance will have
died, but we will continue to live. Death is simply part of the continuum
of growth and life.
People do not always grow gracefully.
Sometimes they want to hang on to childhood or to adolescence instead of
joyfully entering the next stage of life. And many times they want to hang
on to this life instead of joyfully entering the next.
Those who flow with the movement of life will
avoid hanging on to any particular stage. They will simply go where the
growth of life carries them, letting go of what was and embracing what is to
come. |
