GOLDEN TIPS TO PROTECT
YOUR POULTRY 

Birds can fall prey to variety of diseases like Ranikhet, Gumbro and Bird Flu. These can spread from bird to bird and through contaminated water and droppings from an infected bird and can quickly infect your entire flock .

Keep your distance :- Keep your birds in enclosures, only those who take care of your poultry should go close to the birds. Restrict unnecessary people from entering the sheds, avoid inter-mingling of other birds/animals with your poultry.

Keep cleanliness :- Cleanliness inside the sheds and around your farm is a must. It prevents germs and bacteria from multiplying. Clean bird cages and change food and water for birds daily. Dis-infect your farms/sheds regularly

Don't let the disease inter your farm :- Clean yourself and everything else that has been near other birds in the market or other farms. Keep new birds away from your healthy flock for at least 30 days. Dis-infect and wash shoes, clothes and hand before & after contact with poultry to prevent spread of disease.

Don't borrow the disease :- If you borrow equipment, tools or poultry supplies from other farms, always clean and disinfect them before bringing them in contact with your healthy birds and their habitats.

Know the signs :- Keep a check on your birds. Notice increase in death. Swelling around the eyes, neck, head, nasal discharge, discolouration of the wattles, combs, legs drop in egg production are warning signs. Keep an eye on sudden weakness, dropping wings and lack of movement among birds.

Reports sick birds :- Immediately report every unusual sickness or death of your birds to the nearest veterinary centre.
