| Some
difficulties and sufferings cannot be changed or healed no matter what we do.
In spite of our best efforts, some attempts at
reconciliation will be refused, occasionally our plans will go awry, and some of
our infirmities will remain without cure.
We are not always in control of these things.
What we can do is to ask for the power to accept the things we cannot change.
But is there any hope in that?
Our endurance is only a temporary necessity,
because our unavoidable sufferings borne with love eventually give rise to peace
and freedom.
And in the present moment, patient endurance
plants the seed of peace that germinates even now. |
