It is of a complex composition - hydrous phosphate of alumina coloured by a copper compound because of its containing some water. It should be spared from being immersed in water. The stone is supposed to have occult powers to protect the wearer against evils. It changes its colour if the wearer is to get some disaster. It removes eye troubles if eyes are touched by it.
