A unit of data storage, equivalent to about 1m
bytes. Generally , a megabyte is considered to be equivalent to 2 to the
20th power bytes, or 1,048,576. Some authorities, however, claim that for
purposes of data storage and transmission a megabyte is exactly 1m bytes. A
hacker would argue that only the firs definition is correct, as bytes should
logically be measured in powers of 2. |
