A user validation process imposed by
many computer systems before they can be used. A successful login generally
depends on a user entering a valid name and a password before access
to the computer's resources is granted, although some operating systems
demand extra steps. Some versions of windows, for example, require
users to press the Control. alt ant Delete keys simultaneously as protection
against trojan horse programs designed to break system security. It
may also be referred to as logon. |
