A program that manages the distribution
of electronic newsletters and other messages to a mailing list's subscribers. List
servers respond to e-mail requests, automatically adding or removing
subscribers to a list and arranging for all future messages to be sent to
them. Nearly all aspects of list server administration can be handled by
e-mail, making them easy to operate remotely. Two popular list servers are
listserv and majordomo. |
