contain a self-explanatory list of questions and answers designed to guide
newcomers, explain the purpose of the group and give guidelines for posting
messages. For reasons of netiquette (and self-preservation), it is
a good idea to read the faq before posting questions such as: "
What's this newsgroup all about then?" Repeating an oft-asked question
without consulting the faq is likely to attract at least one
flame. faqs are a regular feature on the customer-service pages of
commercial websites, theoretically helping site visitors to find
answers to questions about a company or a product.
Some discussion
forums and online communities, now include a neat reversal of
the faq idea. Called faq ( Frequently Questioned Answers), it
gives people an opportunity to debate or dismiss so-called facts
