The practice of searching for mention of yourself or
your company on the web or in other internet resources such as
newsgroups. Although egosurfing can safely be regarded as a resolutely
self-indulgent activity for those with too much time on their hands, it has
at least one beneficial use for businesses: it can reveal the number of
sites that mention or point to their own, thus giving a measure (albeit a
fairly imprecise one) of its popularity or general interest. |
