Describes an engineer, manager or
marketer with a phone company background, especially one that believes in
traditionally rigid principles of solving networking problems with dedicated
hardware and fixed connections rather than intelligent software. Bellheads
are said to be especially prevalent in companies promoting atm
networks, and they are reviled by ip-worshipping netheads. The
name comes from the now-defunct Bell telephone company in the United States,
the mother of all phone companies. |
